Ronald McDonald House Canada

UX Design

By refreshing the content, layout and UI of the site, our task was to increase the understanding of the Ronald McDonald House Canada organization, its mandate, and ways to support it. Our team gathered insights on the site experience from a variety of users, both individual and corporate, in order to highlight pain points which made it difficult to locate essential information. We conducted research into best practices and successful approaches for digital fundraising experiences. We took these learnings and created wireframes for the refreshed pages.

SITE-WIDE RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on our research, we recommended improving the following key aspects of the site:

  • Readability: Use of concise, scannable copy with more storytelling to increase content retention.

  • Legibility: Increasing font size and removal of large blocks of italic text.

  • Information Architecture: Creating a consistent hierarchy of buttons for primary and secondary CTAs and ensuring meaningful placement of buttons to allow users to engage with content easily.

  • Accessibility: Adjusting the colour palette to increase contrast for text over imagery, ensuring adherence to AAA accessibility standards.
